It's past midnight and I'm still awake. What is it about being home after a swing shift that makes me want to stay up,as if I've been cheated out of time to "relax?" The thought of cuddling up to my wife and falling asleep is extremely appealing, and yet here I am.

When I used to work very odd hours and would at times get home at 3 or 4 in the morning, I would still have to have a period to wind down, to let my mind slide. I would usually read the paper that I hadn't been able to read earlier. Still happens even now. Amy is the same way.
